What Others Are Saying

"A World of Fun! was a success with both the children and parents who attended. We had a full house and everyone stayed until the end. The Wengers are a multi-talented family consisting of father, mother, 12 year old daughter, and 10 year old son. Mrs. Wenger has a beautiful speaking and singing voice. The Wengers' daughter, Katia, a talented musician, played a wide variety of handmade indigenous instruments from around the globe. Their young son, Thaniel, was a showman in his own right. He expertly demonstrated toys from around the world, most of them handmade. Mr. Wenger acting as the MC moving the program along and engaging the audience in culturally diverse games; the winner dictated which country we would visit next. The choice initiated a brief disappearance of the Professor (Mrs. Wenger) for a costume change. She would miraculously reappear in ethnic dress and enthrall the audience with a story complete with voice change characters from the country we were exploring. Believe me when I say she has a gift for storytelling. I was bewitched by her performance. Miss Music (Katia) followed with a brief history and demonstration of instruments from that region. The Toy Tour Guide (Thaniel) would demonstrate a handmade toy or two from the country and tell the audience how they were made. Usually the toys required audience participation and the children were eager to do string games and root for two of their members in a handmade toy vehicle race. The directions on how to make some of the toys were available to the audience. The program began with a group participation song and ended with one. All the instruments were shared with the young audience so that they could play them as we sang the last song together. There was a lot of information conveyed in an organized way in a very entertaining format. It was very hands on. At no time did the audience get out of control. In fact, Mr. Wenger played a geographical trivia game with the audience while waiting for everyone to arrive and settle in. The children appeared to be thoroughly engaged with the performers because they were very much a part of the performance themselves. I recommend that you book them again next year. They were good!"
