Kids and Cultures Camp

Get ready for a week (or two!) of stories, music, crafts, games, snacks, and guests from other countries!

We've added new options this year, including a full-day option, and Little Kids and Cultures Camp for younger campers and their parents/caregivers.

Kids and Cultures Camps will be held at Lancaster Country Day School, Lancaster, Pa., the last two full weeks of June.

This is the seventh year for Kids and Cultures Camp!

For elementary students (finishing grades 1 to 5)
Kids and Cultures Camp

Week 1: June 14 to 18, 2010, featuring Hawaii, Italy, Venezuela, Egypt, and India.
Week 2: June 21 to 25, 2010, featuring Ethiopia, the Philippines, Haiti, Ecuador, and Syria.

Sign up for one or both weeks, either the morning session: 9 a.m. to 12 noon, or the afternoon session: 1 to 4 p.m.*

Campers "visit" a different country each day, create their own travel scrapbooks, and receive a Kids and Cultures Camp T-shirt.

*New this year! Kids and Cultures is partnering with Your Language Connection to provide a full-day option: Spanish Camp. Campers attend Kids and Cultures Camp either in the morning or afternoon and Spanish Camp in the other session. (Students must bring a lunch if attending both camps.) You can register for both camps at Your Language Connection or below; you don't need to register at both sites.

Quotes from Previous Years

"I am so grateful that this camp is available. It has exceeded our expectations year over year. There is nothing like knowing that one's child is gaining understanding and perspective and enjoying every moment of it!" Anjanette Warren, Lancaster, Pa.

"Hannah simply loves the camp. This was her second year and she had as much fun as last year and plans to attend next year. I love that you introduce her to other customs and cultures. It is wonderful that she can meet people from the country and taste some of its traditional foods. This camp is excellent!! We highly recommend it!" Tammy Smith, Lancaster, Pa.

"Thank you for providing such an enriching yet fun week for the children. I just wish each Lancaster County kid could attend your camp. They learned so much but in a fun and meaningful way. Thank you for expanding horizons. It was a wonderful week for our daughter and our whole family." Jill Neuman, Lancaster, Pa.

"Keep up the great work! You've got a great idea and an excellent program. The wars in the next decades will be fought over beliefs. The more we can help our children respect and understand cultural beliefs and difference, the better able they will be at living in peace and being peacemakers." Dan Snyder, Lancaster, Pa.

"This was quite a find for us. I always look for one special camp a year for my children and this one was it. They will continue to be a part of Kids and Cultures for years to come." Laura Dalessio, Lititz, Pa.
