April 2004

Happy April!

In March, we launched our new Treasures of the World website. If you have not visited it yet, please click on www.TreasuresOfTheWorld.org, where you will find photos of some of our shows, handouts of the kids activity sheets, curriculum idea sheets for parents and teachers, sample schedules and our rates, and our five-minute promotional video to download. You can also use our online form to request us to perform. Please stop by and let us know what you think! (A special thanks to SiteStrux.com for giving us a great deal on web design and hosting; our new Kids and Cultures site should be finished within a month or two.)
This month we hope to see you at one of our Lancaster Area Library events, April 17 to 29. We'll be at all 16 of the county's libraries, telling various stories and facilitating related activities. If you know some families with elementary children who might enjoy these shows, please invite them for us. Visit the www.TreasuresOfTheWorld.org website for a complete listing of dates and times. Registration is required at some libraries, so contact your local library for more details. (Also, if someone who attends one of these shows books us within 90 days, they'll receive $25 off our rates. You may want to invite some teachers or PTO leaders to see us and take advantage of this offer.)
The latest big news is that Kids and Cultures is partnering with Millersville International House (Millersville, Pa.) to host a week of summer day camp. During the week of June 14 to 18, children will learn about other cultures through games, stories, crafts, music, and snacks, with people from other countries. Next month we'll give you more details, but mark your calendar now (and again, please help us spread the word to families with elementary age children).

Finally, this month's feature is the Philadelphia International Children's Festival, to be held at University City in West Philadelphia, April 25 to May 1. Celebrating its 20th year, this festival has brought together more 350,000 young people and families of all backgrounds to experience the magic of the best children's entertainment in the world. Click on April's Feature at www.KidsAndCultures.com for more information.

Thanks for your interest and support, and as always, send us your ideas!

Until next month,

Timm, Kristina, Katia, and Thaniel Wenger
