REALLY BIG FIELD TRIP: Follow us to Turkey!
Join us on our 11-day journey this month by visiting www.ReallyBigFieldTrip.com. We plan to blog and upload photos as often as possible while in Turkey, and want you to “come along”. We’ve already begun to post blogs and educational materials that you can use with your family and/or classroom (teachers, please help us beta-test the Turkey curriculum resources). This trip is being coordinated by Red Rose Intercultural & Educational Foundation in partnership with Turkish businessmen. We want you to join us, even if it’s virtually, on a Really Big Field Trip!

DAY CAMP: More than half-filled
Join us for a week of stories, music, crafts, games, snacks, and guests from other countries! This summer's destinations are Sweden, Peru, Egypt, Turkey, and India. Camp is held the last two weeks of June from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at Millersville International House, Millersville, Pa. Camp is designed for students who have completed grades 1 to 5. Campers "visit" a different country each day and create their own travel scrapbooks. NEW this year: afternoon sessions, from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Bring a packed lunch and then participate in African Dance and Drumming (with the Imani Edu-Tainers), Spanish 101 (with Fluent Kids), Refugee Awareness (with CWS Immigration and Refugee Program), A Dramatic Peace (with Fulton Academy of Theatre), and Global Games. Camp is more than half-filled, so register today!

FAMILY CAMP: Get your whole family together for a week-long trip around the world!
Join us for stories, crafts, games, music, snacks, and fun from Cuba, England, Iraq, Australia, and Kenya. Family Camp is for children in grades 1 to 5 and their families (parents and siblings are invited to attend!). Family Camp will be held August 6 to 10, 2007, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., at Red Rose Foundation, 1812 Colonial Village Lane (Greenfield), Lancaster, Pa. Visit www.KidsAndCultures.com for details and to register.

FAVORITE RESOURCES
We’ve added a new section to our website--Favorite Resources, a compilation of some of our favorite books and music to help you help kids learn about the world. While there, you can purchase items from Amazon.com, with a percentage of the purchase benefiting Kids and Cultures. That’s what we call a win-win situation! Please visit and suggest resources that we can add to the section.

JOINING THE TECHNOLOGY AGE: YouTube, Blogspot, MySpace, Google Maps Click to Call, Amazon.com
~ See our visit to the Kids Cookie Break radio show on YouTube and/or on our www.KidsAndCultures.com homepage (scroll down). Thanks, Lisa!
~ Kids and Cultures now has a presence on Blogspot (www.kidsandcultures.blogspot.com) and MySpace (www.myspace.com/kidsandcultures). Look us up and add us as a friend!
~ Phone us for free using the Google Maps Click to Call feature. Go to maps.google.com, type in Kids and Cultures, click “Call” next to our number, and follow the instructions.
~ Also, as noted above, you can support Kids and Cultures with Amazon.com purchases made after clicking through the Favorite Resources section of our website.

READ-TO-FEED: A llama, a goat, and more
Members of the Cultures of the World Club for Families have read and raised $420 for Heifer International, enough to purchase a llama, a goat, a trio of rabbits, two flocks of chicks, two flocks of geese and ducks, and a share of seedlings for families in developing countries. Way to go! Find out more at www.readtofeed.org.

FAMILY FUN (and fund-raising) EVENT: Mark your calendars
We’ve set the date for our second annual Family Fun (and fund-raising) Event. Join us Friday afternoon/evening, August 17, at Conestoga House and Gardens in Lancaster, Pa. (rain date: August 24). Stay tuned for more details….

Thank you for your interest and support, and as always, send us your ideas!

Until next month,

Timm, Kristina, Katia, and Thaniel Wenger
