CULTURES OF THE WORLD CLUB FOR FAMILIES
Kids and Cultures is presenting monthly Cultures of the World Club sessions for families during the upcoming school year. Each 75-minute session focuses on one country or culture and is geared to families with children in grades 1 to 5. Families can sign up for "The World Tour" (visiting all nine locations) or for "A La Carte Trips" (picking and choosing the locations they would like to learn about).

Tentative plans are for the Club to be held on the first Tuesday of each month in Millersville and on the first Friday of each month at Ephrata Public Library in Lancaster County. For more information and to register, visit www.KidsAndCultures.com.

COME SEE US!
In July, we performed our interactive storytelling show "Who Outsmarted the Czar?" for 20 library audiences. Visit www.KidsAndCultures.com to see photos of these shows and to read some of the positive feedback from the librarians who hosted us.

Here's our storytelling itinerary of free-and-open-to-the-public performances for the month of August. Some events require reservations; please confirm the date, time, and location with the host. All are "Czar" performances except those marked with an asterisk, which are "A World of Sillies."

SPOTLIGHT: LancasterFest!
For the area's best cultural event for kids and adults, check out LancasterFest 2005, to be held on Saturday, August 13, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. LancasterFest is a celebration of cultures in music, dance, food, and crafts with an international theme right in the heart of downtown Lancaster. Enjoy more than 100 craft vendors, 25 musical acts, and foods from many cultures! Free admission.

You can see our show "A World of Sillies" on the Children's Stage at 12:35 p.m. Stop by our activity booth near the Children's Stage during the day to say hello and decorate a bag to carry your loot. We need volunteers to help us staff our booth; if you are interested, please contact us by August 5. Thanks!

Thank you for your interest and support, and as always, send us your ideas!

Until next month,

Timm, Kristina, Katia, and Thaniel Wenger
