CULTURES OF THE WORLD CLUB FOR FAMILIES: Next stop-Brazil
Take your family on a trip around the world! Join us each month for stories, games, crafts, music, and snacks from a different country or culture. The next session is on Tuesday, February 13, from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. at Millersville International House, Millersville, Pa. Pre-registration is required. Visit www.KidsAndCultures.com (click on Cultures of the World Club for Families) for more details.

CULTURES OF THE WORLD DAY CAMP: Registration begins February 15
It’s only 137 days until this summer’s Camp experience! Visit our website (www.KidsAndCultures.com) on February 15 to register. There’s something new in the works for this summer to address the main complaint about Camp: “It’s too short!” Stay tuned for details about our optional afternoon sessions.

ANNOUNCING OUR NEW SUMMER SHOW: CLUESapalooza!
Liz and Matt’s parents have suddenly disappeared, leaving only one clue. Can the kids find their mom and dad before the start of the family’s vacation? Join them in their search around the globe for their missing parents and as they find unexpected treasures along the way. Please ask your public library children’s librarian to book our show for the summer. Visit our website (www.KidsAndCultures.com) for more information.

REALLY BIG FIELD TRIP: Invitation to Turkey
We have an invitation to travel to Turkey this year to gather first-hand information and experiences to share with YOU! We're in discussion with a filmmaker about putting together a documentary of our adventures, and are creating related educational materials. Visit www.ReallyBigFieldTrip.com for more information and for ways to help us make this happen. We want you to join us, even if it’s virtually, on a Really Big Field Trip!

RESOURCE: Celebrate Ashura Day with Noah’s Pudding
During the month of February, the Red Rose Foundation will distribute 5000 cups of Ashura (Noah's Pudding) in central Pennsylvania. According to tradition, when Noah’s ark came to rest on Mount Ararat, he and his family made a pudding using every little bit of food they could find on the ark. In Turkey, it is a tradition to serve Ashura or Noah's Pudding (a mixture of fruits and nuts) to friends, neighbors, colleagues, classmates, and relatives no matter what their religious beliefs. If you would like your office, neighborhood, or school to be added to the list of sites for free Ashura distribution, you may contact Feridun Ayata at (717) 333-5706.

6. RESOURCE: National Geographic presents My Wonderful World
Visit www.mywonderfulworld.org for resources for parents and teachers to help kids be more geo-savvy. The site includes suggestions for simple, outdoor family activities and ways that parents can work to get more geography into the classroom, links to geography games and online adventures for kids and teens, classroom materials for educators, and ways for young and old to test their global IQs.

Thank you for your interest and support, and as always, send us your ideas!

Until next month,

Timm, Kristina, Katia, and Thaniel Wenger
