November 2004

Hello friends of Kids and Cultures,

Happy November!

OUR BIRTHDAY
Today, Kids and Cultures is celebrating the completion of our first year as an non-profit corporation! In the next issue, we'll give you updates and statistics from our first year, as well as some of the plans for our second year. We are grateful to you for your support, connections, ideas, and encouragement. Together, we're helping introduce children to the cultures of the world!

THIS MONTH'S FEATURE
During the summer Olympics, we were all captivated by the scenery, history, and people of Greece. This weekend, experience a little bit of Greece at the 46th Annual Greek Food Bazaar, November 6 and 7 at the Hellenic Orthodox Church of the Annuniciation, 64 Hershey Avenue, Lancaster, Pa. Taste a traditional platter of Greek-style chicken, beef and macaroni with cream sauce (pastitso), beef-and-rice stuffed grape leaves (yiaprakia), pastries, and more. Highlights include sanctuary tours, a book and icon room, jewelry, art, pottery, and clothing. Hours are Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS
We want to see you at the next two big events for Kids and Cultures. On December 31, we'll be performing Treasures of the World (including make-it and take-it activities) at LancasterFest in downtown Lancaster, Pa. The world premiere of our new show, A World of Sillies, is on January 13. See the next issue of our e-newsletter for more details.

Thanks for your interest and support, and as always, send us your ideas!

Until next month,

Timm, Kristina, Katia, and Thaniel Wenger
