FAMILY FUN EVENT: Raises $1,900 for Kids and Cultures
More than 150 people came out to Conestoga House and Gardens on Friday, August 17 for the second annual Family Fun (and fundraising) Event sponsored by Kids and Cultures. Participants enjoyed a two-hour Putumayo Pool Party, with music from Putumayo Kids and giveaways; international hors d'oeuvres; and a World Dance Event, with MC Lisa Landis of the Kids Cookie Break. The presentation featured:
• African dance with Imani Edu-Tainers
• Lancaster Peruvian Association dancers
• Hawaiian dance with Mika Cox McDougall
• Zita Angelo of World Dance Lancaster
• Hellenic Dancers of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church
Throughout the evening, attendees were invited to take a self-guided tour of the gardens and bid at a silent auction. All proceeds support the programs of Kids and Cultures. An unannounced highlight was the premiere showing of the trailer for the Really Big Field Trip documentary featuring Katia and Thaniel Wenger, and produced by MaxFilms (more details will be released to the general public soon).
