What Others are Saying

"I never knew learning about geography, history and culture could be so much fun! Katia and Thaniel are the perfect guides for this educational and entertaining adventure. And the message is so powerful and so needed - we all need to invest time in learning about other cultures if we want to break down the walls of prejudice around the world. I can't wait to see where they go next!" Dr. Dennis Denenberg, Professor Emeritus and Author/Speaker (50 American Heroes Every Kid Should Meet)

"Wonderful video of places most of us never will visit - Turkey! The narrative, by kids, is quick, with lots of facts that hold the audience's attention. They show places in Turkey which would interest a child and never linger on any topic too long. It explains the regions and area visited - museums, ruins, etc. in appropriate ways. The brother and sister are fun tourists to view. The interviews at the school and other places are well done. Overall, it provides an excellent example of a tour gone right! Kids don't always enjoy traveling with adults - especially to places that don't have child specific entertainment. This shows fun places in Turkey that kids would enjoy and shows them from a child's perspective. It encourages global awareness and leaves one thinking about visiting Turkey." KIDS FIRST!® Adult Juror

"I enjoyed it. It showed a lot of neat things in Turkey. It was fun to see a different country. It showed ancient ruins and had a lot of information about things that you wouldn't normally see...people in school, the house where Mary lived, John's burial, Turkish baths, and lots of cool stuff. We liked the brother and sister host because they are kids like us. I am thinking about going to Turkey. I never would have thought about it before but now I am. Turkey has some fun things and lots of really old things that would be neat to see." KIDS FIRST!® Kid Juror

For further discussion

In the God/Allah section of the DVD, Katia mentions that the Quran was written by Mohammed. Several Muslims have clarified this statement for us. According to Muslim belief, Allah revealed the words in the Quran to Mohammed, and scribes wrote them down. Research and talk about the origins of holy writings of different religions. (By the way, this section has been corrected in the TV version.)
